EBS Rewards terms
Version 2026-10-11. These terms apply when you join EBS Rewards at a participating café.
1. Who runs EBS Rewards
EBS Rewards is provided by EBS Labs Ltd, a company registered in [England and Wales] (company number [number]), registered office [address] (“EBS”, “we”). Each café that offers EBS Rewards (“the café”) runs its own rewards programme on EBS.
2. Joining
Membership is free. You join by entering your mobile number on the café’s card reader and then tapping “Join” on the private link we text you, or by using an invitation the café shows you. Opening the link alone does not join you. You must be 16 or over. One membership per person per café.
Joining does not sign you up to marketing. You can choose to receive offers separately, and you can change that choice at any time.
3. Your linked card and other EBS cafés
When you join from a texted link, the card or phone wallet you paid with is linked to your membership. After that, paying with it at any café that offers EBS Rewards adds your points automatically, without entering your number. The first time you pay with a linked card at another participating café, you become a member of that café’s programme on these terms, under the name you gave us (or “Member ending 123”).
We keep a code from our payment provider, Stripe, that identifies the card, with its brand and last four digits. We never see or keep the card number, and a linked card is never charged except when you pay for something yourself. Apple Pay and Google Pay count as separate cards: each is linked the first time you confirm a texted link after paying with it.
A card is linked only when the owner of the mobile number confirms the texted link. If someone else later confirms a link after paying with the same card, the card moves to their membership. You can unlink a card, or ask us to stop recognising your cards, at any time by contacting us; your points stay.
4. Earning points
You earn points on eligible purchases you pay for at the café, at the rate the café sets (for example 1 point per £1 paid). Amounts are rounded to the nearest whole pound, with 50p rounding up. Points are added once the payment is confirmed. The purchase you made when you joined counts if you join from that purchase’s link within 3 days.
Points are not added for gift card purchases, tips or anything the café excludes and tells you about.
5. Using points and rewards
The café decides which rewards are available, how many points they need and any tier benefits, and shows them at the café or in your membership. Points and rewards have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred or sold.
6. Refunds and mistakes
If a purchase is refunded in full or in part, the points it earned are removed in proportion. If points were added by mistake or through misuse, we or the café may correct your balance.
7. Your Wallet pass
Where available, you can add a membership pass to Apple Wallet. The pass shows your balance and is updated by us. Your membership does not depend on keeping the pass.
8. Expiry, changes and ending the programme
[Points expire after [12] months without a qualifying purchase.] We or the café may change these terms, the earning rate or rewards. We will give at least 30 days’ notice of changes that reduce the value of points you have already earned, unless the change is required by law. The café may end its programme with at least 30 days’ notice, during which you can use your points.
You can leave at any time by contacting the café or us. Leaving cancels unused points.
9. Misuse
We or the café may suspend or close a membership used fraudulently or in breach of these terms, and remove points gained that way.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights. EBS and the café are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for points not added because of an outage, provided we correct your balance once we know.
11. Your information
How we use your information is explained in our privacy notice.
12. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you may bring proceedings in your home part of the UK. Questions: [support email].
